I heat so many complaints about the lack of Netflix but who really wants to watch movies on their phones? The one app that I am missing the most is shazam. I used to use it all the time on my old blackberry. It was so handy when you hear a good song on the radio. It was even one of blackberrys gifts. I am shocked that it isn't available on bb10.

Nearly every song I purchased with my BlackBerry Torch was via Shazam and 7Digital, so I really am missing this on my Z10. I was considering sideloading the Android version as I have done on my Playbook, but that won't link with Appworld for purchasing as the version on my Torch did. I am therefore very much looking forward to Shazam's release for BB10

Shazam was one of the first apps I searched for when I got my Z10. I hope developers realize that the demand for apps on the Z10 is greater than they may have expected. Developing & tweaking for BB10 will be profitable.

Nope, I tried loading the Android port version for the PB and the icon shows up but when you launch it, it does nothing. You get a blank screen. I'm waiting for this app to come as well, hope it's native though and not a port.

I seriously don't get it. Why didn't blackberry develop their own music recognition software. Shazam and soundhound I believe are using the same publicly available databases. It will definitely require a lot of work to get it at Shazam level but hey... no pain no gain.

Then the app could be blackberry embedded work faster and better and become the new benchmark eventually.

Shazam is one of those apps that are convenience and not community based. Any app will do as long as it does the job. Skype Viber and all that are irreplaceable and have to be the same as the other platforms but shazam... cmon blackberry...

I actually did buy quite a bit of music on my 9900 with Shazam. It's the only real "pain point" I've suffered since migrating.

I got word from soundhound that they will launch sometime soon....

So even though I like shazam a lot I ll take my business to soundhound

I've personally had way better results using Shazam than sound hound, on my previous iPhone. But it is a worth alternative if Shazam isn't available. Mind you i last used it over a year or so, so it's likely gotten much better at recognizing songs.
