Finally a trial version of ReadOnTouch is available in the BlackBerry App World!

This are the benefits of the fullversion compared to this trial version:
    - Storage of articles on sync and thereby offline access for your articles.
    - Images download for offline access.
    - Share articles.
    - Open articles in external browser.
    - Read more than 5 articles per day.
    - You support further development of this app.
    - No more ads!

You can grab your copy here:

I'm glad you like it, great to know.

But I'm sorry, the PlayBook OS did not offer such a feature as you know from the Android version. But I heard that will change with BB10. Until that you can only copy a link from the PlayBook browser and add it via the "Add Link" dialog in ReadOnTouch PRO. The dialog automatically grabs the URL from the clipboard.

    Cheers,
    Sven

    Sven,
Devoted BB fan and thanks for creating this app. I bought the regular version, and i must be missing something - when connected (wifi), the app opens and lists articles that I 'added". I thought one feature of this app was ability (once and article was added) to open the app "Off-line" and "Read it Later", etc. when not connected. The app only opens for me when connected to Internet.
How do I read the save articles "off line"? Thanks, Ken

    Hi kennyg17!

It's a bug in your OS version (I assume that you are using version 2.0.1.688). RIM already removed it from there servers (see for example Where did OS 2.0.1.688 for the BlackBerry PlayBook go? | CrackBerry.com). I could only recommend you to update to os 2.1 beta or to downgrade to the latest version.

I'm really sorry for this, but because it's a bug in the operating system of the device, I'm unable to fix it in my apps... :-( I never got the chance to update my PlayBook to that version, and now without this version I'm not able to reproduce the issue, because all other versions (incl. every single 2.1 beta) works like a charme...

    Best,
    Sven

Ah I see, you want a search for the article view?

You can already search in the list- and preview-mode, but that will only search the first paragraph of the content and the name and url of the article.

    Hi again...

With the last update the performance is so poor, a lot of lag. I need to wait a lot of time only for open one article. I hope you are working hard on it.

I was really working hard on that issue and I've already submitted an update for the app on february 28th! It's still not approved by RIM. So that sucks, I'm sorry for that. I hope it will get approved very soon.

This app really needs a search function to search text within the articles, that and bookmarks would make less painful to read and scroll trough long pages.

So I finally updated the first time. So much has happened since the last update of this thread. BB10 got released and the app got renamed to ReadItNow!. I've also attached a bunch of screenshots for the upcoming version, which is currently under heavy development. I hope you like what you see.

Feedback is really much appreciated. :-)

    Sven

Ah, I didn't think of looking at the first post as that post was originally back when you were talking v1 or v2

Maybe for some publicity start a V5 thread instead.

So we should see V5 in App World for the z10? I'm still getting V4.
