Default Question about quality of apps on BlackBerry 10

Anybody that has used both iOS and Android knows that apps tend to look and feel better on iOS than Android and in general seem to be of a higher 'quality'.

My question is since RIM is allowing developers to develop apps for BB10 using a a variety of coding languages, is there a chance that some of them could look below par visually? In general in iOS, most apps seem to have a common design language and look kinda uniform. I wonder if this kind of uniformity is possible with BB10.

RIM's methodology is similar to Apple's in the respect that they both provide UI guidelines and tools to make UIs somewhat uniform across apps.

The difference will come in what devs decide to do. In Xcode, apps default to the generic ios style. The BB10 tools aren't as refined yet, so devs have to put a little more effort into making sure they follow the UI guidelines.

That's what the Build for BlackBerry program is for....fact of the matter is, it's up to the developers as to what they want to do. The tools are all there. If you use Cascades, it's the easiest (like CBC radio, CBC news, and Hockey night in Canada apps on BB10). You can do the same thing with webworks + BBUI.js (like AFP app on BB10). You can also do BB10 like UI on Adobe Air. The BB10 UI guidelines are all there. Dev's just need to follow them.
