I agree it is not released officially but they are providing a newer version. Get onto www.whatsapp.com/android/ and download the the what's app and install the first option - (package installer) for android and after that go into your setting and see privacy option in your account........ then see ut will work to block your stamps

Nice. Cant wait. And btw.. I don't mind bbm having this too. This is just one more feature that would gain whatsapp users cos people do value choice especially when it comes to privacy.
