I figured it would be a good idea to concentrate the conversation around SideSwype and have one place for questions and answers along with a good place to keep up with updates.

SideSwype is a Native BlackBerry 10 application, which when coupled with our included VPN services, allows you to effortlessly install BlackBerry BAR files or Android APK files to your device without the need for a computer.

An update was issued today, along with the availability of just the BAR to download, no longer having to deal with a Windows-only installer. This will help those of you who either already have SideSwype installed or are on a Mac and can't use the installer.

Installed it and connected to VPN. Now what? Download a BAR from a site like bb10bars directly to my phone?

Yep you can do that, then use SideSwype to install it to your device!

OK figured it out. 1st app try was CandyCrush. Fail. It doesn't open and the app did not take a credit away. That was from bb10bars.net.

If it requires a debug token those won't yet work unless you have the associated debug bar installed to your device. SideSwype can install the debug bar if you have it.

Thank you. I don't have that BAR. I googled it and it looks like that one is the one where I have to get signing tokens via BB dev site. Is that correct? As someone new to BB10, sideloading, etc....this has been an incredibly trying few days.

Correct, you have to get signing keys from the BlackBerry developer site then generate the debug token using the SDK.

Got a token, got it installed. Still fail on every app i sideload with Playbook Manager. Thanks for all your help Tek but I think it's time to admit that BB just isnt going to meet my needs.

It depends on the android app or game you're sideloading. Not every one will need the debug token.

You have to sideload it to begin with, then you can use it to sideload without needing your computer. The VPN is a requirement but will work over WiFi.

I keep getting a connection error, support asked for a screen shot, which they didn't seem to find fault with but I received no reply from them after I told them I was on 10.2.0.1323. I couldn't get it to work on 1047 either, anybody with the same problem?

Support has replied to your ticket, we are working to figure out what causes this DNS issue with some users as there is no real common denominator.
