Nest thermostat app? Anyone have Nest?

Any hope of seeing possibly the android or ios app ported over? I love my nest thermostats but hate asking my wife to make adjustments via her iphone...

I'm hoping for the same. I've been meaning to shoot them an email asking that question. I'm sure they will take a wait and see approach to it. I doubt their web app will work with the BB10 browser either, that said I can't see the android app porting being a big issue.

I sent them an e-mail about a month ago to see if they would be creating a BB10 App, but they've yet to reply. spaxz... a lightbulb went off. I bet any money it will work just fine in the BB10 browser, so might not even have the need for an app!

Edit: just saw that this is in BB10 forum, anyway you can try this on playbook now.

I'm sure it will work in the browser too! It works just fine via my Playbooks. It would have been nice to have an app for it though. Here is the response I got from Nest last week:

I also hit them on Twitter with the #BB10AppHunt hashtag. I seriously doubt a port of their app would be difficult. On my wife's iPhone its very basic and not as full featured as I thought it would be.
If you do Twitter, hit them again!

You could try the converted app on your playbook, and if it works let them know that someone already converted it and it works fine, and point them to the blackberry resources to get it put in app world.

There may be an app coming to BlackBerry 10. But, they are also retooling their site to provide a better mobile experience. So you could just use the site from your BlackBerry 10 device, not the best outcome, but hopefully an app is in the works.

The PlayBook bar file that has been floating around loads perfectly on Z10 and works great both on PlayBook and Z10. I cant tell how much more convenient it is to have it on the phone with always on Internet access vs on PlayBook where you need to tether before being able to control your thermostat.

Does anyone have a link to the directions I can provide a company to submit an app to BlackBerry World? The Filtrete Radio Thermostat app Android port works perfectly so I want to let the company know so that they can submit the app, but want to point them to the right link. I found this page, but am not sure if there is a more specific page that can help the app developer. Thanks!

I had been planning to get a Nest thermostat this spring while I'm remodeling the house...but knowing now that they have close ties with Apple and have commented there is nothing in the works for BB10, I'm going to take a closer look at the EcoBee stat...native app in BB World already!

Sideloaded app works for me..... EXCEPT only on wifi at home. When I'm not at home it says "no data connection". I cant figure out why this is.... Native app would be nice.
