Hey folks, I'm looking for a pretty basic document scanner app so I can scan contracts and email them as attachments when necessary.

I've downloaded a couple of the free ones, scan to text and Camera Scanner for PDF. The first one doesn't do what I need, the second one apparently isn't compatible with the Q10 yet.

I'm wondering if anyone with a Q10 has tried PaperPusher Scanner and if it worked? I don't mind spending a few bucks as long as I know it's fully functional.

    Thanks in advance

I'm wondering about your experience with Paper Pusher Scanner. Lots of great reviews but I have it and I think it leaves a lot to be desired. Definitely not a 4 or 5 star app.

I always get shadows, even with the flash and the auto perspective correction is terrible. The features to enhance the photo quality are barely functional. I don't care for this app at all. To be honest, I haven't found a good app. Yes you can take a photo, crop it and pdf it but the lighting and orientation better be perfect.

On the contrary, I find Paper Pusher Scanner rather capable. I use it to scan old land titles with faded entries, and have had good results.

Every time I use the flash I get a washed out photos. If I don't use the flash I get shadows from my hands and phone. My technique apparently needs some work so I'm asking how you good folks get usable scans.

I've provided a couple of examples. I don't find the "Enhance Image" function to work all that well.

    Thanks.

You'd need no flash and the light source at an angle to the page and not behind you in any way.

Just as above stated you need no flash and the light has to come at a proper angle(best from the front of the scanned document and not from directly above so you don't get in the way).

Agree. Paper pusher scanner isn't that great. We need a port of Camscanner. One can side load the app, but would prefer native... Since blackberry is gearing at corporate, they would be smart to drop money and pay the makers of Camscanner to port this like Microsoft did with windows 7 for this app.

Yep windows 7 has a port before the business phone blackberry!

Document scanning is an essential business need.

I've tried all the apps currently in BlackBerry World and they all leave a lot to be desired even the current king, paper pusher. The side loaded Camscanner, a non native app, works better, but again we need native apps.
