For the moment, you can download / upload files and / or folders between your BB10 mobile and your SugarSync storage. So it works as Box, Dropbox, SkyDrive, Google Drive, FTP, WebDAV... You can also print documents from SugarSync.

The folders synchronization (between your cloud and the mobile) is under devel.

    Other features are incoming...

What features do you want ? I can add / change my roadmap

Can you elaborate on what actually PlayCloud does?
It is kind of a bridge between playbook/z10 and box/dropbox/sugarsync?

I think the thing to do is to try the website version if there is one. I do that with My Fitness Pal. I use the app on my Android phone, and the website on my PlayBook.

PlayCloud is as a FTP client with more features.

You can store your documents on your cloud storage services (Dropbox, Box, SkyDrive, Google Drive, SugarSync, FTP, WebDAV...) from your laptop ; then read / update (or add) from your mobile.

You can also print your PDF / PS documents (more formats are incoming) over IPP network.

You can share in using standard services (Bluetooth, NFC, Mails, BBM...) and most in using clouds solution. So the use case is :
1/ Create a video from the camera or storymaker (or downloaded from the web)
2/ Upload the video on your cloud storage
3/ Share the uploaded video with your friends (sample in using Box collaboration feature)

Read my thread about the application :

    http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...access-767624/

In next futur, I'll add auto synchronization feature. So you are able to sync local folders (sample your photos) with your clouds. The use case is :
    1/ Take a photo
2/ Wait that PlayCloud syncs your photo on your cloud without actions from you. If you want, PlayCloud can wait that WiFi is available or mobile data connection isn't in roaming...

I can do exactly the same with sugarsync/dropbox app already?
(based on experience with android phone)

You can also print your PDF / PS documents (more formats are incoming) over IPP network.
    Is it just Z10 feature?
Just bought playcloud for my playbook

but I can't find any printing options

    1/...

3/ Share the uploaded video with your friends (sample in using Box collaboration feature)
Sugarsync/Box/dropbox apps do it without assistance already, don't they?
    (android phone)

    BB10 feature

To compare Box / Dropbox support, I need the final device and I don't have.

I don't know how works sharing feature.

PlayCloud supports more services, and has network printer support. UI is different ; you can like or not. with some avantages as pinch zoom, audio or documents thumbnails...

At last, but not least, you can contact the developer to request new features.

Navigation software with offline maps - ex. TomTom.
Can't afford the data roaming charges once I cross from Canada to US, don't want to waste data when at home, or be left without any navigation when traveling out of cell range (which is most of Canada.)
On my daily commute to work I can get traffic updates from my local radio station.
A free 7-day trial for the Mireo DON'T PANIC GPS navigation app which uses TomTom offline maps and has Live Traffic... and is much cheaper should be available for BB 10 soon.

Does the data go through third party servers or syncs directly to box/dopbox/sugar
and playcloud is just some sort of a UI overlay?

PlayCloud communicates directly with cloud services (box, dropbox...)

I don't want to depend on a third applications. To print, PlayCloud dialogs with the network printer without third applications. I dislike the solutions as AirPrint, AirPlay... where you have to buy and add a new soft !

PlayCloud is a native application to avoid to use the web browser, it permits to be better integrated with your other applications (PlayCloud discovers your other installed applications and can invoke them to open or share document)

There is a free and light version to test some features.

In priority, I add the missing features. Sample I'll add zip / unzip feature, but it isn't a priority since this feature is available from the default application.

Is it a local communication or my data leave my PB and visit PlayCloud server before they get to eg dropbox

PlayCloud is the name of installed application on your mobile. So your data leave PlayBook (or mobile) and they get to directly dropbox (or any service) in using a SSL secure connection.
That's why I have to implement all client protocol (box, dropbox, skydrive....) in the application.
