    Hi there,

I'm the developer of Instago, a viewer app for Instagram (Link). Since the app seems somewhat popular I thought it might be interesting to share some numbers what "popular" actually means in the context of BlackBerry World.

Link: Instago in BlackBerry World: Numbers

As said in the blog post this is the raw data, I'll leave the analysis and interpretation open for discussion.

I'd also like to encourage other developers to share their numbers so we can get a better feeling of the actual size and "behaviour" of the BB10 platform.

    Cheers,
    Dirk

I don't have exact numbers, but I believe I've hit about 2,000 downloads of my memo pad app, Noted.

Here's a screenshot of the top paid apps (US) in app world (if I read this right, I'm in 4th place in this geo?):

Let's share some numbers about apps-img_00000674.png

To get to this view, open BlackBerry World, open the left crosscut menu, and tap Apps. Then scroll down past the free sections.

My app was available on Jan 30th. I'm very happy with these results =)

FYI: You can download the raw download data in the BB vendor portal. On the left click "Download reports", click on the "Schedule Reports" link on top and choose the app and what you want to have. "Downloads" is every download and includes redownloads and updates, "Purchase" are actual purchases and are counted only once for each process. After you scheduled the report you will be able to download the data as a CSV, which you can further analyse.

Thanks, very interesting read. Given that several million BlackBerry 10 devices have been sold, I was expecting higher figures.

I am going to BlackBerry World and find some app to buy.

Here's the country breakdown, haven't quite hit 2,000 downloads yet (I collapsed some single digit rows to make the image a reasonable height):

I just posted another round of data since Instago was a featured app for around 2 weeks in the "photo apps" campaign (one of the 2 group teasers in BB World). It also got certified as "Build for BlacKBerry" and all this amounted to 55 more downloads per day (from around 150 to 205 purchases per day).

Here are the purchases broken down by device:

    And by carrier and device:

Here is device model break-down for our apps. It appears that sales from Q10 devices are gaining ground at expense of sales from PlayBook and to a degree Z10 devices...

Let's share some numbers about apps-device_model_distribution_2013_08.png

and PlayBook (labelled as OS2) vs BB10:

Let's share some numbers about apps-playbook_vs_bb10_2013_08.png

(This chart represents only sales totals and does not represent revenue as the apps will have different prices at different times - i.e. $3.99 app with half of the sales of $0.99 app will still bring twice the revenue, etc).

By the way the peaks (in nov 2012 and apr 2013) clearly demonstrate the impact of being featured on the front carousel in BB World (not in the Apps section carousel as impact of that feature is noticeable but not as drastic).

Compiled stats for Sept. Looks like Q5 eroding Q10 slightly and PlayBook keeps sinking...

    By device model:

    and zoom into OS10 versions:

    By OS10 version:

Still unreleased 10.2 is at above 10% of OS10 versions and 10.0 holds relatively steady (we dropped 10.0 as of last week's release by the way so it should not appear in stats going forward)
