Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you think Instagram's icon just got smaller than it is already? lol

Just watched the video again but because of it's icon and seems that it is a ported version, I suppose.

I dont think its a native application. I think its sideloaded. It looks exactly the same as the android version

If it was native I think Instagram would be making a big deal out of it.

Hate to break it to you instagram looks the same across ios and android.Facebook, twitter are the same across the platforms.Alot of these apps will not be rebuilt from scratch thats time consuming waste what they will do do is repackage them to fit the OS UI structure.

Then say hello to the bugs that will be coming over in the future once the app has been launched.

Sad times apple and android have the microsot esq monopoly of applications. We are Linux right now sad times. But those bugs are probably a big reason why many repackaged apps are not available in app store right now.

Instagram on BlackBerry Z10 spotted... Even though it's just an Active Frame ---> Netflix running on the BlackBerry Z10! - YouTube

Now my question is: Is Instagram an official port or an "amateur" one like Netflix?

    Mmmh looks like a port.
Usually a ported app shows just the screenshot of the app while minimized.

They are just going to repackage if they decide to give the app to us. Making it native would mean recoding it, and that would consume large amounts of time and money.

So I suppose we will never have a native app of our own somewhere in the future. Well, this is bad news to me today I'd say.

I agree. since it will be a port, it will cache every single picture you look at like most android picture apps. they won't disapear either until you manually delete them

The widgets (buttons, windows, etc.) showed at screenshots are not native. It's an android port. Sure.

Well, it's a very good app. The UI, the social side of it and the effects are damn good.
It is important to people out there because EVERYONE is using it on their phones and buying a new phone and then losing the coolest app you have, won't make sense to them.

Also, I could live without it but I want IG to come to BB10 because the platform would get a lot of attention.
It may sound reductive but that's the truth; Everyone I talked to about BB Z10 asked "Does it have instagram? If it does, I'mma get it."
