    How come I don't get my notifications from Facebook right away, like push? I'll get a bunch at once usually every 10 or 15 minutes.

    Try the Setup icon, then Accounts, then the Facebook Account and Edit. The setting should be in there.

    No settings that I see to change how often it checks for notifications

    You can't. It polls every half hour or so. It's so annoying that I turned mine off just cos of the delay and to save on battery. I now use email notifications instead.
