I think it's enough. I use both from ported apps. And those work perfectly.

Check out the PlayBook App side loading forum. There is information there on porting apps. If you want to do it yourself, you'll need a set of signing keys from RIM.

Android apps have to be converted to a .bar file to be loaded onto a BB10 device. Ported Android apps are available in BlackBerry World, as well as being able to side load them. You won't be able to download or install them from a different app store.

No, not all. If an app was built with a later API build, or includes native C++, it will probably crash. It all depends on how much the Android Player gets updated.

You won't be able to access Google Play directly, or the Amazon Appstore, since those apps are .apk files, not .bar files. If the developer ports the app, and adds it to BlackBerry World, then it will work. The only official app store for BB10 will be BlackBerry World.

Other (free) Android apps have been converted by others and have been made available for side loading. Some of these don't work, since they are not fully compatible with the Android Player. But, the ones that do work definitely help fill the gaps.

whatsapp and instagram is really gonna be the deal breaker for me, all my mates are on whatsapp and not having it on bb10 is really gonna hurt me. anyone knows if we gonna get it either in bar form or as an app?

The Android version of WhatsApp has already been ported and available for side loading (and works). It would be nice to either see a native app, or the developers port it and add it to BlackBerry World.
