I recently emailed SoundHound, a shazam-like music identification service, asking about their intentions to develop a BlackBerry 10 app, and this is the response I received:

I have grown tired of waiting for Shazam to come and this confirmation of a BB10 app actually being developed (not "looking into BlackBerry 10 bla bla bla") is a great sign. Hopefully we will have a music ID service soon enough!

I just replied asking about whether this will be Native or Android. I will pass on the response when I get it.

It is quite weird, but I'm typing this on regular PC keyboard and still looking for something to swipe from PC keyboard. Man, it's addictive.

I like soundhound, they're pretty good. Plus they give you lyrics to the song as well. Can't wait.

Yep, Soundhound confirmed they're coming, probably a month ago or more. There's a bunch of threads on Shazam and/or Soundhound coming to BB10 already.

It's good news for sure. No experience with Soundhound (yet), but I'm eager to have at least one of them on my Z10.

Weird, CB does an autosearch when you type a subject for a new post and nothing at all showed when I typed SoundHound. Sorry if this is a duplicate.

I have tried them both on other phones and find them very similar in many ways. We can't go wrong no matter which comes first to BB10.

Thanks. To be fair, CB10 doesn't have a search feature (I don't think), and when I searched on my computer, I looked for SoundHound, not Shazam.

It does have a search feature... it is in the overflow menu.. those three dots at the bottom right corner..

I liked Shazam on my 9900 and 9810, but Sound Hound looks great. I'll be glad to have anything at this point. Good to see that BlackBerry is getting harder for companies to ignore (kind of can't believe it even got to this point, but oh well).
