Facebook Messenger?

Since WhatsApp isnt there on BB10 yet, I was thinking of using Facebook Messenger as an alternative. Does the Facebook app on BB10 have solid chat integration? Are notifications instantaneous, reliable?

There were early reports from people in the UK that there was no Facebook Messenger available; it wasn't apart of the Facebook app nor was there any separate downloading Facebook Messenger app. I have yet to see anyone contradict this yet. It is a question that I would like confirmed now that more users have the phone - is facebook chat available?

There is messaging inside the facebook app, click the speech bubbles icon at top of screen in the app and you get existing conversations. In the existing conversations view there is a compose new message icon in top right to start a new conversation.

One other thing, In the facebook app we can comment and like posts but I can't find share yet.

Be nice if we do get this app I find it takes a while for messages to come through the normal app. May have to sideload the Android one for now.

Yeah it is kinda ridiculous that fb doesn't have chat in it considering it worked fine on my bold. I want the ability to see who is online.

A Solis FB Messenger app integrated with the hub and push notifications and reliable connection would be worth gold.

Android version of Facebook Messenger works but doesnt give notifications.

I'm pretty sure Facebook will launch the Facebook messenger themselves as they did with legacy BB OS, but it's annoying that they haven't done it already! Same goes for Instagram, which they own!
