    Thanks for that!
I was up to open that too!

As I saw this on BlackBerry blogs, first I was like: "Wow! There is a solution!"
Then I realized it's a scam to make the web launcher look better.
Best parts are: "I want to clarify that Facebook will continue to support BlackBerry 10 and BBOS."
and: "...we have actively worked with Facebook to move to a web-based app with additional features."

Do they think we are stupid?!
This really brings my blood pressure to a new record level.
Why can't they just say that the situation is messed up and all they have to offer is a icon that leads you to the facebook homepage on the web browser?!
This isn't even close to a solution and there are no "additional features", it's just the mobile website!

When I go to to the Facebook homepage and add a bookmark to my homescreen - I get the same and additionally save 24MB of memory.
BTW: Can anyone tell what those 24MB are needed for?
    Thank you.

In this app, they ask for location and calendar. Any idea why they need it and what they do with it?

    I really don't know.
Maybe to give Facebook "side-permissions" by default?
Even if you don't use the "app" and go to the website itself it will ask to get access to your GPS if you wanna share your location.

It has an Uninstaller application to remove Facebook app and other ties to the BlackBerry 10 system. This is the reason... sad

If that's damage control - I don't wanna know what "losing control" would look like.

Not sure what that means....to feel for the damage control. The only thing that's sad is watching bbry die slowly. And I don't buy this being facebook's fault. Someone at bbry has poor diplomatic/negotiating skills/problem solving skills....there has to be a way to save the integration. Our numbers are small, so we're not worth the effort/time/money. And they figure they'll lose some customers but hopefully that number will be offset by the ones who go to the Priv. Not me....my next phone will be waterproof.

The beta zone app is a full app, with hub integration (although it does ask for you to upgrade to fb 10.7 (likely the Web bookmark) upon opening it at the top.

I don't see it now there either for eligible downloads or installed downloads (but it is listed under programs as available); however, it's still installed and working on my phone.

I guess the fb apocalypse tomorrow will determine what happens
