BlackBerry bought docs to go to downgrade it on BB10
I just got my awesome Z10 and one of the first apps I checked was docs to go.
I use this app every day since I am involved in some book publishing and I need to edit lots of documents while I'm on the go.
So I was sure that since blackberry owns now docs to go I will of course find the most sophisticated version on black blackberry 10.
But I was very disappointed to see that not only isn't better in fact you can't do now even what you were able to do on your old blackberry, you can't view footnotes comments or endnotes.
And also you can't also the whole insert menu is missing you can't insert a comment, I expected that by now you should be able even to insert footnotes as you can do in many apps on Android but was so surprised that even what you were able to do till now you can't anymore.
I really hope I'm just missing something I will be very happy if someone can give me the tip how we can do it because I can't believe blackberry doing that.
But unfortunately if that's the fact I will need to sell my awesome new Z10 on ebay.

Making a new CrackBerry account and wasting time writing a post I half-read sure is a lot of effort for someone who's ultimately selling their nickname-inspiring phone which they claim to be a "fan" and Jackson 5 fanatic about... EXHALE.
Having said that, I haven't used Docs to Go much yet on the Z10 but I DID mess around in Excel a bit and it appeared to be quite a bit better than on the PlayBook.

I used docs to go a few times. The amount of polish they've put into it is ridiculous. I couldn't even believe they were able to get such beautiful ppt animations in there. It seemed to be fully functional to me. Not sure about footnotes, but if it is in fact missing, there is no doubt that it will come in a future update. They didn't take any features away. It's a brand new, fully rebuilt app. They've actually managed to introduce many of the old features on the new app in this first version on BB10. Give it time, and I'm sure all the features you want will be included.
I must say I was also very impressed by the new design and polish they made to the app I really like that you can have a format bar on the screen but unfortunately what's missing is much more a problem to me then what I gained and I'm almost sure that the CrackBerry team will find some hidden gestures how you can do it and that was the main reason I opened that tread I'm not here to bash I just want very much to be able to keep my awesome z10 and I can't go on without this features.
I really need blackberry will have a update on that soon but I can't hang on without knowing when to expect it. If anyone can get a word from blackberry regarding that issue I will be very happy.

If Android works for you, we're all sorry to see you but you should chose your device based on what works best for you. On top of it, I'm sure you'll be able to make some profit selling your BlackBerry Z10 on eBay as a lot of people want one and are waiting for it impatiently. Just ship it soon, so that another bbz10fan can be made.
PS: Welcome to CrackBerry!

During blackberry enterprise forum they said that many of those missing features will be coming in updates soon. They mentioned annotation and presentation notes on the phone while full side is output to hdmi. I can't remember the other points they mentioned, maybe someone else around here has all the details.

I'm really not trying to be rude here, just genuinely curious. But if you are involved in "book publishing" and need to "edit lots of documents", how come all of your posts are riddled with grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors? Is English a second language? Sorry, not trying to be rude, I would just think that if you are editing for book publishing you would tend to write with proper syntax.

It's okay to ask for help but the "I'm selling this thing if it's not fixed immediately" .. myself and the rest of the members can do without those type of comments. The phone is great.. Are there issues.. Sure.. What new platform doesn't have them. The great thing about RIM and the position that they're in is that they listen. So ask your questions and for all you newbies out there keep the "ultimatum" comments to yourself if you want some real help from the very experience CB members on this site. First impressions say a lot

BlackBerry is working on DocsToGo. Please keep in mind that BlackBerry probably did something close to a full rewrite of DocsToGo for BlackBerry, so it makes sense that some features have not been brought over yet from the version for legacy BlackBerry 7.x and lower devices.

But unfortunately you can't view nor insert even in the edit mode.
BTW I would prefer they just take away the need to tap to edit just as it is on Docs To Go on Android.
PS just downloaded the CB app on my Z10 and it's so amazing! never saw such a great app from 3'rd party it really feel to be native.

I too am looking forward to improvements in Docs-to-Go(DTG). In the legacy BBs (OS 7 and lower), it was much more functional than on the Playbook(PB) or the Z10. The inability to insert rows, columns, cells, etc. is tough to overlook. With BBBY owning DTG, you'd think that of all devices, the BBs would have the best darn experience with DTG. Alas, that's not the case. When I needed to, I'd use my BBOS 7.1 device (Curve) to do the inserts and editing that the Playbook wouldn't allow, then go onto the PB to do my work. Cumbersome, but workable. With the Z10 now, and with neither the PB nor Z10 allowing for this enhanced editing and inserting functionality, there are certain things that I just need to wait until I'm back on my PC to accomplish. Hopefully, we won't wait too long for some of these more basic Excel functions to be added to the BB10 OS functionality in DTG. Regardless, my Z10 and PB combined, or alone, are awesome devices!
