I have both an android tablet and an ipod touch. One thing I noticed is that apps on those devices get updated way more often than BlackBerry apps do. When we do get updates, it's a big enough deal to make top story in cb news (xx to be updated, still in beta, blah blah) .

Any reason for this?

Really? I think the BlackBerry apps get updated pretty often. I am always getting notices for updates available.

Most of them I find get updates frequently enough I'd say. However if there is lag for some apps it's due to market share. Developers are going to put more time into platforms with more users and market share.

It's the same reason why the grocery items at your local gas station convenience store are refreshed less frequently than the products in your supermarket. There is a much more volume in the latter with competitive shelf-space dynamics. In other words, that's where the discriminating grocery customers are.

Come to think of it, the pricing dynamics are also the same. Let's face it, if you are buying your groceries at the convenience store then you aren't shopping for price, selection, or quality, are you?
