    I honestly despise BB Link. Garbage software in my opinion.

    The only reason I need it is to back up all my messages from the Hub and have them readily available when I finish installing a leak or something happens to go wrong and my phone explodes or something of the ilk.

    Anyone have any personal recommendations on which third-party solution to go with?

    SMS Backup by Epic Windmill. I had the same problem and backup with Link sometime restore more often than not breaks something in the leaks I install.

    I use this to backup all my messages onto box or dropbox (if you've added it to file manager) and contacts are already on hotmail cloud. No problems in restoring. The only thing you loose in the restore is the delivered status in sent messages.
