You're correct, but in time it will have more features than the current hub, sadly you'll have to open another app as there isn't a way to override the swipe feature on the home screen to open this app. So you'll basically have two hubs running, one feature rich and the other running stale as I don't see BB adding any new features anytime soon if ever.
Do you feel like it defeats the original purpose of the hub?

I wonder, if Blackberry released some developer tools that gave access to the API(is this what's needed?) maybe modders in the future could play with it. Maybe they'll do that once they decide to truly can BB10, then developers can make it what it ought to be! I imagine we could even figure a way to hack in a newer Android runtime, unofficially, of course.

Great for reading at night as the stock hubs bright theme is too much for me.

Just assign this app to a keyboard shortcut.
In fact, having a hub that's not built into the OS like the stock one is a similar experience to what the Priv users have.

This is highly unlikely as BlackBerry 10 is still used (and will still be used in the next years) by government agencies and companies that need to have a higher level of security, I don't see BlackBerry opening their code to outsiders. I used to work for state government where I live and they were still using BBOS when I left in July 2015...

Haven't you ever wished you could have 2 hubs?

Like if you have started writing an IM/email but you need to dig out a few details from a different message. I'm never going to say no to more multitasking awsomeness!

No not really, it's still a centralized location for all your notification without the need to open every app. In using the keyboard shortcut like someone mentioned would be a good substitute for gesture.

I wonder how the author is still developing, when almost all left the BlackBerry 10. Great motivation

Not having read all previous pages, still curious, I cannot seem to do much in the settings yet, but will I be able to add accounts later? More particularly a work account?

I have. Currently, have to save the message you're writing then go back to the hub to find the other you want to look at.

Still waiting for more development on this app. I am surprised there has not been another release as yet; the initial release seems almost like a tease.

Try restarting Beta Zone app, that usually fix it.

Good progress, but needs to be able to add non-email accounts (FB, Twitter, etc).

A new Build is ready for release. BlackBerry Beta Zone is undergoing maintenance. Will publish it as soon as Beat Zone is live!

Will post a preview of two Advanced Gestures today.

Hub10 mimics the delete behavior of the Hub. Except,

    Advanced Gesture #1:
You can - Remove from Hub/Move to trash/ Delete from server, using a right swipe on an Hub10 item.

Check out this gesture in the gif down below !
