    This affects everyone.

Snapchat is now sending automated emails if they detect third party application usage.

Your account will be locked and you will have only one opportunity to unlock it.

If you continue to break the Terms of Use your account will be locked indefinitely.

Yep, just got this email as well. Looks like it's Android port or nothing for us now.

Indeed. They already cracked down on the Windows Phone clients, was only a matter of time before they got to us.

Option 1: invest in policing for 3rd party apps that nobody would use if native were available, restrict user base, make users unhappy.

Option 2: invest in developing native apps for all platforms. Increase users, increase, keep end users happy.

Option 1, however, also reduces the likelihood of exploits in third-party apps becoming an issue - thousands of SnapChat messages were leaked from a third-party app a few months back, and SnapChat doesn't want the bad press again. With no third-party apps out there, they have control over their API and client.

Option 2, on the other hand, may cost more than it's worth considering the small market share of BB10 (and Windows Phone, for that matter). I sincerely hope SnapChat brings a client to BB10, but I'm not holding my breath.

You need to go to the link in the email and change your password in order to login again. You might also need to login to the Snapchat Support website and use the "Unlock your account" option.

Did that. Had to downgrade from the latest version. It lets me login but it locks up when running on 10.3.1.2072.

So what options do we have for using snapchat? I just checked the amazon store and it's not there. Is it in snap? I haven't had that installed for awhile.

I did email snapchat to ask them to create an app for bb10.

Opened and closed a few times and it seems to be working....I never user it. It's just to monitor the kids. Probably time to have the kids close their accounts. Sorry Snapchat (well, not very sorry.)

It is available on Snap, yes. I haven't tried using it myself though, no clue if it works well.

It's in Snap but the latest version didn't work for me. I had to go back to a previous version. I'm sure they will disallow old versions soon. They really don't like BlackBerry and Windows users.

At least we have the option to use the android version
To use the latest version, which is fully functional, you can remove the GPlay dependencies

Ok thanks guys. I guess I'll just have to BBM my wife all the **** pics I send. Haha.

Seriously tho, I don't use it much. But it would be nice if we have an officially available app. Maybe my email will sway their decision! Lol

I removed the dependencies with Lucky Patcher. It still wouldn't let me login with the latest version in Snap. The previous version I had saved did allow me to login.

I'm using the latest after removing google dependencies
Some people reported it wouldn't work, but I wonder whether it has to do with the fact that I have google services installed via Colbolt

I never really liked Snapchat but really? They are sending you a cease-use message but they won't develop a native app?

Simple solution, develop a native app for BB10.

I'm sick of companies dragging their feet or flat out saying no on this. I had the same discussion with Line2 by Toktumi. They developed an app for Amazon's Fire flop of a phone but refuse to develop for BB10. Then they tell me that they hope I will consider another platform. No! Develop native, port, or don't be surprised when folks figure out a way to make the service work outside of your refusal.

This is a Homer Simpson moment.

    Sorry about my rant...
