    Dear CrackBerry forum members,

I made the jump to the Z10 with knowledge of Skype coming one day.
But next to that there is another app on my wishlist, Mobile Voip, hoping for it to support the new BB10 as well.

I need it very much to keep in contact with my friends around the world in case they are not online.
Which happens a lot because of different time zones and working hours.
In short the app allows you to make cheap international voip calls including text messages as long as you bought credit from one of the supported companies /websites. I use it a lot when I am home on my computer, but also need it in on my phone when i'm on the road!

So I decided to try and contact them through Twitter, Facebook and their own customer support system.
But until this day I haven't gotten any replies! I always found their customer and contact support lacking
but the call quality and low rates make a lot up for it.

So my two questions for the community is:
    1. Does anyone know if they will support BB10 in the near future?
    2. Are there any Mobile Voip users amongst you?

*please try to keep this thread clean of off-topic stuff!

Try TruPhone - it's available now in BBWorld - and it works...

other Voip alternatives also exist, but have no personal experience with them

TruPhone has higher rates and different deals, that I do not need, maybe suits others but not me.
Other Voip / Sip clients are out there... but I just need this app, since it also holds my contactlist and lets me send txtmessages.

I guess most people who need to dial international have skype accounts so they wait for that or they have provisioned it on their contract with their provider.

I for example being a T-Mobile customer in the USA and having the need to make lots of calls to Europe on a daily basis take advantage of their incredible package that they have unlimited calling landlines worldwide and unlimited text worldwide, both for $10 a month!

Either way I would definitely use mobile voip if it was available as a. Backup and perhaps better rates for mobile to mobile internationally.

Well, I use Voxofon which is a hybrid VOIP and very cheap for most countries. They say the BlackBerry 10 app should be ready any day, but for now I just use the website, because it basically sets up a callback to a phone of your choice. Works almost as well without an app as the old BlackBerry App worked.

The quality of calls is good.

That app sucks for voice calls imo. Horrible voice quality, even on Android.

I would recommend Bria (paid) http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/28329074

    Information for beginners:
    Betamax/Dellmont rates http://backsla.sh/betamax
Voice quality can differ, I suppose it's up to the reseller. They probably offer resellers similar routing options as http://www.voicetrading.com/product/wholesale_voip

Some alternatives which sucked for sip2sip, but might be good if you only need sip2phone:
    Tera-Phone Pro (paid) http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/23748873
    Taki (paid) http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/130295
    Tera-Phone Lite http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/21797459

Mobile Voip is slow and laggy on Android as well. Do yourself a favor and use a decent sip client. The settings are the same for all the Betamax resellers out there...

    Example configurations (they're generic):
    https://www.megavoip.com/sip
    http://www.nonoh.net/sip
    https://www.12voip.com/sip
    Etcetera

    Same concept for sms (generic):
    https://www.megavoip.com/sms/instructions
    https://www.12voip.com/sms/instructions
    Etcetera

    It's not rocket science.

Im aware of other SIP clients , but that is also not what i need . Same as other people on here requesting Mobile Voip on BB10 .

Mobile Voip integreation with SIP providers goes much further than just SIP calling , it lets you select your mobile number for dialing out for example . I got 4 numbers in my list so I can choose eihter one , or choose to call anonymous .
Next to that it lets me see my call credit .
Next to that , how much the call is going to cost me .
Shows the quality of the connection before the call is established so you know how the call quality will be .
Options for directy call , or work with a local access number .
    ...

Those options I dont find in other Sip clients . I just purchased TAKI from the store and asked for a refund . Its really not what i need .
Really pitty that Mobilevoip is not ported yet to BB OS10 . It worked flawless on my Windows phone , but then again .. windows phone had many other flaws so I came back to Blackberry .

I don't know if this will help, I use text plus downloaded from 1mobile market. My friends also use the same app so we call and text one another for free. If you have a Google voice account you can also download groove ip, I make and receive calls and to and from US and Canada for free with my Google voice account on my z10.

If you can call regular telephone lines with text plus it's OK . Could be a help for some people , altough 3$ a month is more than I currently pay trough mobile Voip (freevoipdeal SIP) .
Besides that I hate monthly subscriptions , plus I'm not in the US/Canada so this is not for me .

Freevoipdeal also has an smsc server , which I use to receive SMS from my NAS in case of emergencies .

I also like the Betamax services. Most of them have local access numbers - this makes it possible to simply use a voice dialer instead of VOIP app. Advantage of using a Dialer is that the voice connection is (still) more reliable and also most of the pre-paid plans nowadays have unlimited minutes included. VOIP (when not used over WiFi) depends a lot on a good 3G/4G/LTE connection and could quickly pile up hundreds of megabytes of data. Of course for SMS and account info (like available balance) an App is definitely more helpful.

For me currently FreeVoipDeal works best and they do have local access numbers in many countries:
    FreeVoipDeal | Geograpic Access Number

As a Dialer I use of course "BlaCaDa 10" - it is available in the App World and allows calling directly from the BB10 Contacts:
