On my Lumia 930, there is an app called Video Compressor that easily allows you to select a video and has a preconfigured profile for whatsapp so you can share those large videos because whatsapp is limited to 16 MB video attachments only

is there a similar app for BlackBerry?

yeah it's really cool man, on the Lumia, the app cost 0.99 cent, you select the video, choose the profile:

    example: whatsapp
    then it will show you

    Original Size = 76 MB
Compressed size = 12 MB (you can up the quality more until you reach the 16 MB limit)

so then I would choose 720P instead of 480P for example and the file size would be 15.99 MB and converts in a second! very handy

wish someone can make such an app

I don't know if it is a cpu related problem. But you could contact the developer and ask him if he can improve the performance.

I will, one bad thing about it is, when you are converting a video, you need to keep the app on and on the active screen, if you switch to another app to do some other stuff while it's converting it simply pauses the conversion till you return to the app. I know the BB Classic doesn't have the same power as a Lumia 930`s CPU but it shouldn't be this slow IMO
