Otterbox Defender available for Z10

Defender Series BlackBerry Z10 cases | OtterBox

While I'm glad to see them on board and that they're available day 1, I'm really hoping this is quickly followed up by a Commuter Case (And maybe some other premium case makers like Element). I haven't dressed my Blackberry up like a tank since my 9700. I like the commuter on my 9900, it's decent protection without making my phone look like a brick.

While I'm at it, here's hoping there will be a red Z10 in the near future too (Fingers crossed).

Does anyone know a) does the Z10 support the in-case standby mode like a 9900 in an original BlackBerry holster, and b) does the OtterBox activate or support his feature?

Awesome, and a snap in belt clip holster too. I want it. I'll wear it around in the states and just tell everyone I left my Z10 in the pickup. They'll be so jealous.

I just bought one.

Got this strange message before ordering though. Sold out already? Now wouldn't that send a message to the US carriers.

Nope. Read what it says. A system upgrade is taking place and they are not processing orders until Feb 9th. So your order will be processed next weekend and because of the delay, they are offering a free Pursuit.

But a sellout to US users would send a clear message to the carriers. I ordered 2 today myself. Got the wife sold on a Z10 so there will be 2 sold to this household when released.

id be worried how that works with the gestures personally as the portection looks awful close to the screen edges

This is true. I've got the feeling I'll be using a screen protector and a holster case.

i have the offical flip case and thats really nice, holsters arent `in` in the uk unless your the emergency services or batman

On twitter they confirmed that gestures still work, as well as nfc

Not sure how this case will work, the dev alpha B had a casing around it and that caused problems with gestures, this case doesn't appear to have any room on the sides at all...

Guess I'm going naked lol

Yeah I agree with the concernes about the swiping up gesture but also I'd like to see some cases have a cutout for the bb logo on the back like they do to ipoop phones. I wanna show hey I got a new blackberry and I love it.

I always wonder what people are doing with their phones that they need these defender cases. I have literally climbed a small MOUNTAIN with my bold in a regular shell case. On the other hand many keep their phone naked and question why I even use a shell case. Each their own!!

It's plastic. Make your own cut out. A hole saw should work fine. Just watch that you don't run it too hot to melt the plastic.

This case reminds me of their 1st generation of Defender case for iPhone 4. I think Otterbox refined the design later (to greet 4S?) and I am sure they can make this Z10 case better-looking to more peoples going forward if Z10 keep selling like hotcakes.

I long for the commuter case though.

The defender cases are great if you work in an industrial type job setting. If your in construction, work in power plants, etc.
