I'm setting up my new business now. It's an event planning company. And since I'm an ardent fan of BlackBerry, I've decided to give all the people I employ a BlackBerry 10 device each. So came the thought of BES.

I've registered for 60 day trial of BES and am in the process of testing it. I couldn't find the pricing of the per device per year for BES. I read somewhere that it is $99. Can someone point me in the right direction for it?

Also, I need to know if the BlackBerry 10 device needs to have BES activated with the carrier for this service to work like on BB7 and prior devices. Or does it work over normal mobile data?

    $19/year/device for a Silver license.

BlackBerry 10 devices just needs a standard data plan like any other smartphone.

Do yourself a favour and ditch your local server and use BES Cloud. It'll save you in the long term as you are a startup.

    Thanks for the info.
Does the silver license provide BlackBerry Balance?

I was considering that. I don't want to use a local server. Thanks for the advice

NOTE: These prices are in AUD, so they may vary slightly

    $19/year (Silver)
    $38/perpetual (Silver)

    $60/year (Gold)
    $120/perpetual (Gold)

All license types include BlackBerry Balance, by the way.

Gold doesn't include balance - if you activate regulated you have no balance mode.

No, you're confused. Gold, with regulated activation type still uses BlackBerry Balance. Work space only mode, only available with gold CALs, is what you're thinking of.
