Default Will Bell offer UMA support on its new HSPA network?

Since Bell will be selling some new HSPA phones that support UMA like the Bold 9700, does anyone know if they will be offering support for UMA voice services in the future? Or will this remain a service offering just available on Roger's network?

I'll take a 'yes' from a 'nobody' over a 'no' from somebody any day...

So has anyone with a Bold 9700 or iphone tried using UMA service on Bell? Does it work? Also if you are using wifi to make calls does it count against minutes?

Bell does not have UMA yet but they are going to upgrade to 4G in the next couple years and wifi calling from what ive heard is unlimited.

Put a question into Bell about UMA support in the future, and got this interesting yet ambiguous reply, especially the sentence about 'prematurely unveiling of information'....

    ----------------

Thank you for your recent email.

My name is Marlene and for your reference, my employee identification is 6010365.

Upon full review of your email, I am pleased to learn of your interest in the availability of the UMA network and I can certainly understand your wish to obtain more information on this subject.

At the present time, I am unable to confirm the availability of this network. I hope you will appreciate that the premature unveiling of information in this regard could compromise our position in the highly competitive cellular industry.

I would like to thank you for using Bell's website and for choosing us as your wireless communications provider.

Additional information can be found at www.bell.ca and we can be contacted again at Bell Canada customer service - Contact us- bell.ca.

    Kind regards,

    Marlene

well, that coulid go either way. I am optimistic that it means that UMA should be on the way in the future. Rogers already has it on select phones. I believe that Bell would be worry some of UMA as it could destroy Bells position in home phone especially LAN lines for corporations.
