Default Upgrading frm BB WE 8830 to BB Bold 9700

I have a BB WE 8830 and can upgrade it. I was thinking of getting the Bold for the HSPA network, one concern I have is when I go outside the HSPA network I will have no service at all for example Saskatchewan. This isn't a big concern as I have a second phone with Bell I was thinking of using for these times and just keep my plan to a basic voice/text plan. This would probably work for me until Bell expands their HSPA network in the next few years.
One thing I like about my WE is when I travel to Europe I am able to throw a SIM card in it from another phone company and no roaming charges and crap like that.

Does the new HSPA network work on SIM cards or is it similar to CDMA as in no SIM card and if it does use a SIM card will the Bold work in Europe?

Also is it worth upgrading to the Bold from the WE excluding the faster network with HSPA?

The BOLD 9700 has a sim card but you need to get it unlocked inorder to be able to drop in any companies sim card.

Whats the process for doing that, is it fairly simple? Also will all my acceseries that go on my BB WE work with the Bold for ex: Car Charger?

Unlocking is fairly simple and relatively inexpensive. There are a couple of members here on crackberry who do do this.
