Default Unlimited BB Email & Internet 30 - BISEI

I just activated a Bold 9700 on our corp account on the Bell network and they are no longer offering the Unlimited BB Internet & Email 30 package (BISEI). I've tried both our Achatplus representative and Bell medium business. They say they removed it when they revamped the packages when HSPDA was released.

Has anybody recently activated a new BB with the Unlimited $30 plan? I'm now on a $35 1gb plan, but I'm nervous of going over my limit. We have another BB with BISEI that was activated a year ago but they will not let us set up this new one with it.

Any suggestions?

1 GB is a ton on a blackberry. I have 500MB on my plan. Never used more than 20 on my old 8703. Have a storm now, and I am at 100MB with 6 days left in my billing cycle.

The data is very compressed. Unless you are streaming music/video constantly, you should be OK

So far, this month, with my Bold 9700, I'm up to about 6-7 MBs. Especially with Wi-Fi, it's just about impossible to go over the 500 Mbs, even with constant emails coming in, video streaming, etc, etc.

The Masked Man,
BISEI is gone now. It cannot be activated. But believe what the others have said. It takes A LOT to go over even 500MB. Only real way is to be watching Live TV Constantly (I've been doing it because of the Olympics on my Storm). If you want to keep an eye on this go to the new "Self Serve" icon. It will let you view your unbilled usage. If for some reason that Icon isnt there just log into your online billing at bell.ca.

Jassal2008,
500MB of data lets you do any form of on device data usage. So like email, browsing, facebook, twitter, IM, etc. This does NOT however cover you for Tethering your device to a laptop or pc and using it as a modem. Not only is not supported by this 500mb but REALLY REALLY expensive. If you want a 4 figure bill real quick this is how it is done.

If either of you have any more questions about Bell and it's services feel free to contact me anytime ^_^

Later Days!

Another quick related question: Can you call Bell and have them put a hard limit on your data usage? Say once you hit your usage for the month it will not allow you to use any more?

Nothing is unlimited with the 500 MB data feature, all data used is counted towards the 500 MB.

No features like that available. 500 MB is ALOT of data for a BB.

anyone that has this feature grandfathered should in theory be able to carry the feature over to an HSPA BB during a hardware upgrade. the activation tool used in the store initially DOESN'T show the full rebate for the phone, but as long as the combined total of the Voice/Data comes to larger than $50 a month, the rep should be able to get a price override from their help desk to match the subsidized price. i do this often with my clients.
if you have this feature, try your hardest to keep it. if someone tries to get you to change it, tell them you're entitled to keep it as long as you'd like.
that being said, 500mb is next to impossible to exceed on a BB without a lot of multimedia streaming.

Yup. When I upgraded to the 9700 from my 8330 3 months ago, everything was grandfathered, including my unlimited Internet. My basic voice ($30) + Unlimited BB Data ($35) has me paying $65/month + tax. I also have call display, voicemail express, extended evenings and weekends and 250 incl. anytime minutes.

if you actually use 1GB on a berry...then you gotta go to rehab or something.

Email/Pin = 1KB - 3KB depending on attachments, but just text.
Google.com (on a Berry) = 4-8KB
1MB = 1024KB
500MB = 512000KB

Sorry for the late reply.

Jassal2008, justcallmed is right. Nothing is unlimited with the 500Mb option. But as mustbesonny points out, that 500mb does go a long long way. the only reason you would go over this in theory is if you're doing online streaming IE Bell Mobile TV or YouTube. And even then you would have to watch HOURS of it.

I myself am I power user. I use about ~75 emails a day, 100s of BBM messages, MSN Live Messenger, UberTwitter, Go on m.crackberry.com for a few hours (stretched threw the day at work), Facebook, and often I download an app or two and a theme or two every month. I am impressed if I even hit 250mb in a month. The only reason I am over that now is because of Bell Mobility Live TV and the Olympic games. >.< Damn them being addicting. Use Mobile TV with caution. Im over 775MBs from half a month of this TV, but I was watching it about 3-5hrs a day (work has been slow).

If you do manage to keep BISEI on, that's great, do it. Just keep in mind that no new activations can get it, and if you remove it, you cannot get it again. And a draw back is that usually the plan that goes with this feature you're still being charged 6.95 or 8.95 System Access Fee and 0.75 911 Fee. The new plans do not charge this.

Any further questions feel free to PIN me on my BB. I cannot get on the forum too too often :P *The wonderful life of being a new daddy of twins :P*

So basically if you stream content then it adds up otherwise i does not. So does that mean i can leave my windows live messenger on 24/7 and not go over the limit?

Streaming YouTube videos and radio is about the only way to surpass 500 MB.

Browsing, email, BB Messenger, etc. will not alone put you over.

Ya, you can leave MSN open 24/7.

BBM is an application that you CANNOT close; its always running 24/7, and you don't go over.
