9550 HSPA bands are not compatible with North American Carriers. CDMA is it if you want to use it for Bell.

9520 is not compatible on north american HSPA either. HSPA is only 2100 MHz on both phones. Only difference is that the 9550 has CDMA radio in it.

How can Bell be lame and failwhen there is no device available from RIM?

The 9700 and 9000 are still the only 2 BB's compatible with North American HSPA networks.

I'm glad someone knows what the **** they're talking about. The 9550 was made before the HSPA network even launched, and if you just looked at any other provider that carries the Storm 2 - Telus and Verizon? CDMA networks.

Bell doesn't build BlackBerries. They have to wait for RIM to put out more BB's that are HSPA+ ready, ie (I think) the 9100, the 9700a, etc.

Now I'm leaving this thread because the way you word your posts make me want to jam glass in my eyes.

EDIT: Also there's still a lot more CDMA users than HSPA network users, just due to phone selection, grandfathered plans, etc. I say to **** with the new network until they get a Storm that works on it, personally.

Ugh I can't believe **** is censored. Really?

Actually, from a spec sheet that was released today to bell employees, it looks like it is going to be running on HSPA. Kinda weird. The 9550 spec sheet is also showing that the storm2 9550 has CDMA Dual band, GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 and UMA HSPA 2100, which is Bell's new network. If any other bell rep is on here and has access to Infonet, it's on the bulletin board.

Reread the section under the specs:

"*As Bell’s HSPA network only supports 850/1900 MHz, this smartphone will not work on Bell’s HSPA network, as this smartphone only supports the 2100 MHz UMTS/HSPA band."

Launch date doesn't change: April 13, 2010
