Default Rogers Bold 9000 on Bell Canada network issue

Ok so I unlocked a bold 9000 from rogers and I inserted a bell sim card but the device still says "Insert Sim Card"...

I tried to call tech support but they wont help me cause the phone is from a different provider...

was hoping someone can help me trouble shoot the issue here.

Ive tried to go to mobile network and run a Diagnostics Test but no luck...

Anyone have any ideas?

My first suggestion is trying the SIM card in another phone regardless of original carrier, as long as it is unlocked. I have had the experience where it won't work in one phone but will work in another. Usually either phone incompatibility or SIM DOA. If possible go to a Bell store and ask to use their in-store demo SIM card to test out to see if the issue continues.

Check the IMEI on Bell's website to make sure compatibility, some of the earlier Bold 9000 doesn't seem to want to work with the new Bell or Telus networks.

Bell Device Compatibility

The only other possibility is your unlock didn't work properly.

As well make sure your "Network Selection Mode" is set to auto.

thanks!

Looks like the IMEI is compatible, so not sure why its not working or picking up the SIM card. I called Bell as well and they say the SIM is active so I'm quite stumped as to where to go from here.

Try your SIM in another phone and see, cause if that doesn't work, your SIM is active but the SIM itself is defective and needs to be replaced
