Default Poor signal for hspa

Hi i have a problem when i go inside my school i get 1 bar or sos on my bold 9700 i called bell and they said i have a bad sim so i went and got it changed and they said all the problems will be fixed (signal and late arrival of emails and bbms) so got it changed and came to school and same problem 1 bar and sos on the bottom floor my friend has the same phone but on rogers and he gets 4-5 bars every where. so i called them again and they said we dont gurentee coverage in buildings then i said everybody uses there phone in buildings your network should work to. then they said we can trouble shoot the device but nothing is wrong with it so i hung up. Can some one help me i dont know what to do? im getting laughed at from all my friends on rogers and i just got the phone 3 weeks ago for a 3 year deal. I need help!

I have the same problem with my school. with my school rogers actually put a tower in the area just for my school. Bell just hasnt caught on that students are important and they need towers up for colleges and university's. Im always on SOS when im in my school i have just learned to deal with it and if i really wanna get a message out i just use the wifi

Jassal, what school do you go to? I live in richmond and I have always wondered about the hspa connection for bell. (Sorry for being off topic) When I went up to SFU with my bell phone, i had WAY better reception than any rogers/fido phones there. =P

The difference is the towers not the phone, because Bell or Telus phones can't go on the Rogers network and Rogers phones can't go on the Bell or Telus networks. So basically, for where you are, the Rogers tower must be closer then the Bell tower, which means less signal for you.

Ya it's the towers bud. If you were desperate there is possibly an Antenna booster you could get but I dontknow how small they are getting those things these days. I know the one for the rocket stick was smallish, and worked really well. I'd mention it next time you call Bell as I know they do sell the boosters.
