I remember reading in a thread a few months back that shortly after it was launched it was already put into its EOL cycle. Maybe when essex is launched those Bell Tour users out there could pay the $160 insurance deductible an upgrade to a nice new Tour 2. But I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

Ya it was dropped. Only a few left in stock to be used for DOA exchanges and stuff. Hopefully this means making room for some new models tho Not a good exchange tho for the 8530 as Tour was far more powerful.

I've known about this since before Christmas. I love my Tour, but might trade up to the 9650 when it comes out!

The 9630 is like a limited edition or something. LOL

Who knows with Bell. They are crooked. My company phone is with Bell... but I wouldn't let my wife be with them.

Bell came and installed a fiber connection at our facility and those goons told me some stuff that said everything I need to know about Bell. They are fat and happy!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA that was great, totally made my day.

I just thought it was weird that they would stop selling Tours since they are still a relatively new device, I mean if you're going to stop selling a device I would've stopped selling the 8330 but that's just me. I think you guys are right they'll probably be selling the Essex.

But why would you want a Tour when Bell was offering the BlackBerry 9700?

Simple really. The Tour was a world phone, aiming people who travelled to other countries where the signals are different (such as Europe) but now that they have the new HSPA phones, there's no use for the Tour anymore. Without a contract the phone was more expensive and the price with a contract only went down once Bell decided they wanted to get rid of their stock. So to sum it up, they got rid of it because they had no use for it.

I couldnt have summed it up any better than that, that is exactly the reasoning.

Funnily enough, you can still order an 8830WE on the Bell website.

You'd think they'd move to a cameraless Tour or cameraless Bold for the corporate set.

You can still get the 8703e at Verizon too! Some old models die hard! Oldies but goodies (FTR I still have an 8703)

8703 is bulletproof! I just got a storm, but will keep the 8703 as a backup/beaterberry!

So let's say someone needs to get a replacement for their Tour, what will happen now since it's no longer being sold?

What kind of replacement? If you're talking repairs, well, they just repair the phones now, not exchange, but in the off chance that they do replace it, they have their own stock. Otherwise, a replacement, in the sense full priced phone, the Bolds are cheaper then the tour, so might as well just upgrade.
