Default Japanese Language Input

Does anyone own a 9700 and have successfully installed the Japanese Language Input with Bell?

Thanks!

I have installed it with a Bell OS.

You need to go to the Blackberry website and look for a 9700 os with EAST ASIAN Support, multi language will not have them.

Then do a back up in dm, wipe the phone with bbsak and install your new OS.

Now in somecases the OS is an upgrade, where you will not have to wipe the phone, but rather just install the OS over your current!

Good luck!

Which carrier OS did you download off of the RIM.com website for the Japanese input?

Is bbsak found in Desktop Manager or is it a separate program?

The rule with Japanese input is this: the file you download has to have a lowercase j after the model number for INPUT of romaji. For instance

9700*j*.exe will have Japanese input
9700*.exe will not have Japanese input even if it is AllLang or EAsia. Those ones will give you the ability to READ the language but not write it.

Hope that helps. I want it for the Torch :/
