Default Help me build a Bell plan..

Since it looks like Bell is getting the 9800 soon, I thought I would start thinking about a plan.

The ones on their website look ok but I keep hearing about various "special deals" you can get if you know their secret handshake, so I thought I'd post here and see.

Here's what I want:
  • Torch 9800 Phone
  • Unlimited incoming calls (from any local phone number, not just Bell numbers)
  • 5GB Data (For using BIS, BBM, Web browsing, Tethering with my laptop)
  • Don't care about unlimited Myface or twatter apps, the amount that I use this stuff I can just use my regular data
  • I may want to experiment with BESx on a server at home
  • Voicemail
  • Caller ID
  • 500-600 local minutes
  • Early evenings and weekends
Am I out to lunch wanting this for less than $100/mo on a 3 year contract?

Thanks for the help.

You will need to speak to retentions to get this plan at the price you want. I hope you're an existing customer out of contract.

What are they quoting you right now for what you want?
Do you have a price from them?

The secret handshake is for existing customers only really.

The Bell forum on here isn't all that populated.

I haven't called them yet since the Torch isn't yet available.

I have been with them for 5 years less a couple months.

PERFECT!

okay, here is the deal.. head to howard forums, read their Bell retentions thread.

OR Call them and speak to retentions. From here, say you want to cancel your service, becaus Rogers is releasing the Torch Sept 15th. and say they will give you all your needs fro around $80

They will do their best to try and keep you as a customer and come up for the same plan for around $80/mo.

Now this really only works if you are out of contract.

But since you have been with Bell for 5 years, they will work with you to keep you.
its all set up!

Post your success!

This is what I have done with them, its not the best but better than what i had.
500/daytime
unlimited evening/weekends starting at 5pm
unlimited text
Caller ID/ VME
100 minutes Canadian long distance
500 mb BIS data
Premium Handset warranty
All service fees included
ALL FOR $60/Mo + tax

And its easier to negotiate now, so when you get the torch on release day

I wish you luck.

BUT please do not forget to check out howardforums bell retentions thread!

Thanks again!

Just to clarify, your unlimited texts are SMS, not BBM, right?

BBM uses your data plan?

Correct. BBM uses data, texts are SMS. If you have any issues my corporate contact at Bell is a great person to talk to. He can get you the best available plan with Bell.

i.e. my plan

750 daytime mins
evenings and weekends
caller ID
voicemail 10
unlimited texts
unlimited data (grandfathered)
Bell to Bell national calling
200 mins long distance
$7 smartphone insurance
no system access fees
$74 taxes in

All the best with getting your plan. It is feasilble to get what you are looking for. Personally, I believe that staying with one company does pay off. Enjoy the Torch, it is awesome on Bell!

Seems quite fair to me. 400 Daytime =~ $30, Visual VM and CD = $15, 6GB = $30, 100 LD = $12, 250 Text =~ $5, Unl Incoming = $15, so overall I would say that is actually worth about $107. Definitely worth it if you are not going to send very many text Messages. ^_^
