Default contracts

So Im wondering if there are any ways to get out of a contract with bell, i was down south (gta) area for work and now i got moved up north (near Manitoba border) they told me when i signed up i could get a local number and i cant. also there is no 3g coverage at all, witch is brutal having a blackberry tour and cant use it as a blackberry just as a phone because 1x is way to slow. I wanna know if theres a way i can get out of this contract and go with a different service as i would have a local number and faster speeds. any body know how i can do this?

Not having a local number I find kinda odd and think you should check into, but as for the data, that's not a good enough reason. Where I live currently only has 1X, so I sold my Tour and got a Bold 9700 instead to compensate the download speed, but I'm not sure Manitoba has HSPA coverage yet, so that wouldn't really be an options for you. By the looks of it, you're stuck :S

Aubin6892,
An option for you to think about is perhaps a Billing Change of Responsibility. If you can find someone who will take over your Bell Mobility Account, Bell can put it all into the other person's name. You would get one final bill and a $20 BCoR fee and you're out, no ECF or DECF. Just note that a credit check will be run on the new person, and will have to select a current in-market plan if for any reason your plan is no longer available.

I know a lot of people post this type of thing on Kijiji. Usually to the effect of "Free Device with Contract". Some people will jump on the lesser contract and cheaper device. If you try to charge $100-149.99 for your Tour you'll probably get no bites. Tour is a wanted device now as Bell no longer offers it in-store.

Best of luck!!!

Later Days
