bells new tcp/ip instead of wap questions!
Okay, so here I am an old Bell 8330 user .. stuck with the old WAP internet and no APN information thus apps like flycast wouldn't work etc.
Then i upgrade to a brand spankin new bold 9700 .. WOW .. what a difference. Flycast work, net is 1000's faster, and i'm plesantly surprised to find bell has a sim card and uses the regular tcp/ip stack ...
Now .. since flycast works and i'm assuming all APN apps will now, I have a question about tethering...
before I continue, I currently have bell's unlimited web surfind/data plan for the blackberry.
Firstly, with my old 8330 I was under the understanding that either 1) it just plain wouldnt work, or 2) it would work but use bells's OTHER data plan charging me a bazillion dollars for 5 minutes of time spent surfing with my laptop
Now my question is, can I now tether my berry to my laptop and browse without incurring any additional costs? Look forward to some thoughts on the matter!
EDIT
-----
so after calling bell, they said if i teather my phone to the laptop it is turned into a 'modem' and will use the 'other' data plan as it always has ... sucky .. oh well
