Bell OTA system upgrade: does it ever work?

I recently read that a Bold 9700 update was made available as a download (http://forums.crackberry.com/f146/ne...t-asia-392209/), but it seems that it's still not available over-the-air on Bell Mobility; I'm still at 5.0.0.344

Yeah ive tried to use the OTA updater but im convinced it doesnt work or its not meant to actualy upgrade the O.S cause that seems far fetched that you could upgrade your phones O.S wirelessly but who knows...
