Finally some respect for Bell Mobility Users...

Lets start with Bold 9700 or Storm 2 9550????

I'm a Touchscreen BB guy (I love the Storm and I'm certainly going for a Storm 2) but it will be great to know what other Bell Mobility users thinking...

Is the 9700 going to be compatible with the old system? I guess what I need to know is if I get the 9700 will it work while I am in Saskatchewan every other week? Bell uses the Sasktel towers there which are cdma. Am I going to be better off with the 9550?

the new network is a blanket of the current cdma network. Where ever you have current coverage you'll have coverage with the new network.

Hey,

I am currently with Rogers, I wanted to buy the new bold the same day it launches! but now since it looks like its coming with bell, I wanted to know if I would be able to use it with a sim card by getting the phone unlocked also will HSPA make a difference? I am not sure what exactly that is.

Thanks!

I don't think this is true. Telus and Bell both rent towers form sasktel. Sasktel has not even started looking at hspa, still 2 years out. If it blanketed sasktel would have hspa, and they do not.

I have no idea how it works in this situation. maybe Bellus has upgraded the tech on those towers to include hspa?

All i know is everyone has said, that its a blanket of its current cdma network.

I guess we will find out soon enough. I really hope the reps I have talked to are wrong but I dought it. Sasktel is a slow communist company. I hope Telus has put up there own towers. I would sign up today... or when the 9700 launches anyways. I'd like to see a coverage map. Anybody got one????

No hspa in Saskatchewan. And in Manitoba, Winnipeg only.
The Mobile Ninjas

If I lived in Sask. I wouldn't buy the 9700 just yet. Stick with your storm.

P.S. Congrats on your own forum!
