| | Add Bell MMS service books to unlocked 9100?
Basically I have a Telus Pearl 3G that was unlocked and put on my bell contract. However, Bell refuses to send me the mms service books. My old 9530 has the service books, so I was wondering if I could copy them over or something?

I've tried that multiple times.
And I called Bell, but they couldn't help.
Is it because I'm on OS6?

I don't think so, all the service books are out there.
But MMS has been an issue when swapping in a different carriers phone.
Have you tired getting them on OS5?
If that works there is a great post on here about getting everything to work on OS6.
Ill search for it and edit the link in.

I downgraded to OS5 and MMS worked fine. I guess that Bell isn't supporting the BB6 9100 at the moment.
I'm upgrading again now, as I love BB6
and the instructions you gave me don't work, as the Pearl refuses to enable SB legacy mode, in either OS 5 OR OS 6

To get MMS working you have to backup the service books from OS5 and restore them in OS6. Bell does not have the service books for OS6 yet for the 9700 either. To do this:
1. whlie running OS5, go to Options, Advanced, Service books, hold ALT and type "sbeb", youwill see "legacy restore"
2. back up your device in DM, for simplicity back up a seperate time backing up only the service books. Now you have a full backup of all servce books.
3. After installing OS6, go into options service books, again hold ALT and type "sbeb", now you can restore the service books fully to your device.
If you woulid like further details, they can be found in the forums elsewhere, or shoot me a PM and I can type out further details later.
Cheers,

I've tried typung ALT+ SBEB (and even ALT+ SSBEB, since it's a pearl). the legacy mode never enables.

I don't think it will work yet until Bell starts to support it.

I had this same issue with the Torch in Aug/10 when it wasn't released in Canada. I told Bell how to get the browser working with the service books. Bell told me that they didn't support it yet because that is their default answer. Reps love to be lazy and default to not knowing an answer.
Google how to enable legacy restore and I can email you a back up of my Bell service books if you want. Email me.
Cheers,
