BlackBerry Ltd.’s rescue close to a corporate coup d’tat | Financial Post

I sort of like this since I am in the same boat ( much smaller) and believe it will gradually recover. Meaning I was unhappy with the idea of selling at $9 and need about the same price as Fairfaix to break even.

Changing the BoD seems as important as changing to CEO. The board seems to be clueless.

End he drama and get to work. Expect Chen will be the CEO. Why else is he there?

you could always go to crackberry.com and look at the front page from yesterday:
A first look at BlackBerry's soon to be (interim) CEO, John Chen | CrackBerry.com

meaning interim only in the self that he has not yet been conformed by the board. Don't expect he is there to help the board find the next CEO which is what most news and articles imply.

Need a face/CEO that will shows action and enthusiasm

No Chen is best known for turning around Sybase and selling it to SAP.

    care to offer an example?

Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg seem to have a different view on him:

Chen’s BlackBerry Revival Task Mirrors Sybase in 1990s - Businessweek

Former Sybase Chief to Take on BlackBerry Turnaround - Canada Real Time - WSJ

"When he assumed control of Sybase in 1998, the software maker was in the midst of a restructuring, had announced plans to cut 10 percent of its workforce and was trading near a record low. In 2010, he sold Sybase to SAP AG for $5.8 billion, more than six times its value at the start of his tenure." Clearly he didn't part out Sybase.

interesting quote, "Last year, Chen recounted how research firm Gartner Inc. predicted a 70 percent probability for “Sybase’s death” when he joined the company."
