Default Help with wallpaper and poor quality

I've been trying to download wallpaper from the crackberry wallpaper page, but every time I save the picture the quality is very poor.

I've tried saving it from the browser, sending the picture to my email and even downloading the picture onto my desktop and sending it to my media card. Every time the quality turns out poor even though the picture looks perfect on my desktop.

    Anyone know whats happening?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Too many things can be the issue... Size of the images, resolution are the two biggest thing... Are you saving them to your SD Card?

Can you connect to your PC and then right click on the images and tell me the height, width and resolution (dpi) of some of these images?

Might be good as long as it's not an image so small, like one for a 83xx series device - which would look Really bad on a 9700.

Not sure if it makes a difference but when you choose the pic in your gallery the picture will look blurry do you press 1. That clears up the pic but not sure if that will effect how it will look as a wallpaper

I downloaded these straight from the crackberry website where it has the whole library full of wallpaper.

The details of the images on my SD card are the exact same as on my computer:]
480x360/96 dpi for both horizontal and vertical resolution.

They look fine on my computer and also on the browser. And the funny thing is that my friends 9700 is doing the same thing.

It seemed to have fixed it. I pressed it once and now wallpaper seems a bit higher quality. And I tried other wallpaper that I have and even without pressing 1, it seems to be better quality than the picture in media.

96dpi images are very low resolution and there is no guaranty of how good the original image was. Personally I prefer 600dpi images. Big difference from 96 to 600 dpi.

One more thing, are you having CB send you the image or are you just saving the small image?

I've tried both. Save to computer, and crackberry email, and also using browser to browse crackberry.

Where can I find higher res?
