Silicone Skin/Cover for the BlackBerry Tour 9630
I recently purchased the silicon skin that Verizon sells for the Tour, and it's far thicker than the one my friend bought online from a website-- the Vzw skin is clunkier, bulkier, and generally more cumbersome than my friend's.
I noticed in the Crackberry Store there's two silicone skins for sale for the Tour, and i can't tell the difference between them from their product descriptions.
does anyone know if one of these is thinner/less bulky than the ones Verizon caries? and if one is better than the other of the two Crackberry.com sells? i.e. are there any other differences between these two models? They cost the same and I'm not sure which one to buy.
I'm looking for the most form fitting skin possible.
here are the links to the 2 crackberry.com skins and the one Vzw sells:

good to know. and are the Seidio covers as thin (or thinner) as the thin silicone ones? or do you prefer the Seidio covers just b/c they're tougher? the snap covers i've seen (not sure what brand they are) seemed a bit bulkier, but of course they were sturdier, which is the trade off. i'm willing to sacrifice sturdiness for form.

I had a Seidio case for my 8830 and it actually caused scratches on the silver part of my BB surrounding the screen. It seemed like dust/dirt got into the case and then became lodged inside. When I removed the case there were alot of pinhead sized scratches surrounding the screen and also the side panels. Not sure if I'd get the Seidio hard case again because of it. Anyone else have this problem?

The VZW skin is thicker but I actually prefer it that way. It does not slip off the device easily and maybe offers a bit more protection. As for the Seido case, I too had one for my 8830 but I never had it scratch the device.

i got the verizon skin just to have some protection when i bought the phone then i came home and ordered two blackberry branded skins from the crackberry store. i hated the verizon skin, waaaay too think for me and i didn't like how it covered up more of the screen. the blackberry branded on is thinner and i think looks much nicer.

OEM Blackberry silicone cases i feel are the best! Thin with great protection, and they're made by the manufacture of the phone itself, so to me that mattered some!
As stated earlier, a few posts, people can find them cheap these days!

I bought a silicone case from vzw. It was thick and covered a lot of the phone... It also wasn't stamped "blackberry". I took it back, didn't like it at all.
I bought an oem bb case on ebay for $6 shipped. Fits perfect

I got an amzer jelly silicone skin and at first I thought it was too thick but after using it a while I like it better than the thinner skin. It fits much tighter, feels like better protection and I like the way it looks

It is funny as I was wonder the same. I purchased the BlckBerry Tour (9630) on release day and they had all of the accessories on a table for a quick grab. The sales "specialist" told me that the skins were OEM from BlackBerry even though they don't have the stamp on the back. I havenoticed that the one that Verizon is selling covrs up more of the case around the camara. I actually think this is a goo idea. The facrt that Verizon can get away with sellingnon OEM accessories is interesting to me.

I used to use the RIM gel skin but it stretched enough for it to cover the mic a bit. I use the Innocase II now but I noticed some scratches on the top where it says bb and on the chrome from removing it (carefully). Oh well, still love the grip and I can live with it.

The innocase II is the best case for the tour imo

have to say the Seido scratched up the face of my Curve and had the faceplate(?) replaced. Only used the silicone after that and didn't have any problems with them stretching out. They don't slide well in the pocket but definitely protect it. So I purchased several for my Tour.
