BBM Music and Blackberry 10?
BBM Music is great, but will I be able to use the application when Blackberry 10 devices come out?

It is my understanding they are having a very difficult time utilizing BBM with QNX. When Thorsten Addressed the stockholders and mentioned that RIM was trying to do too much on it's own, It made me think of the difficulty they are having with BBM and QNX. That makes me worry they are going to put BBM on hold for the next Gen.
BTW, Hiya Gravy, it is Punch from BBMM. Keep on cranking the Alt Country Bro!Last edited by geoffsdad; 04-12-2012 at 08:13 PM. Reason: typos

I would like to know too. I would also like to know what happens to the subscription fees one way or the other when I switch to BB10. BBMM forum doesn't get many views so I wonder if something should be posted in General News or Rumors? Lemme ask some Canadian BBM buddies that I know have BBMM

So, I was browsing on Blackberry World and saw there is a BBM music app. It says it is free. The description sounds similar to the BBM music I have been using under the subscription fee. As I don't have a BB10 phone yet, has anybody that does tried this yet?

Shame it isn't. It is one of those things that was a good concept and I had a lot of fun with it. Blackberry music simply had bad timing, it came out when blackberries were on the decline. I found some good bands and music though that program.

I agree entirely. It had some issues and could probably have used some organizational tweaks (how the service itself was organized). But I discovered (and re-discovered) a lot of cool stuff on it.
Anyway, if Kevin and Zach above aren't enough to convince anyone its dead, @michaelclewley probably should be:

Definitely a shame. - 03-06-2013, 05:27 PM #16
Zach, with all due respect, we're already painfully aware that BBMM is currently AWOL on BB10. Do you mean to imply with this comment that you've heard word that it definitely isn't coming?
Songza is actually pretty cool, but it isn't the same service by a longshot. What I loved about BBMM was that everything I could listen (outside of my own collection) was actually picked by other people, instead of some computer algorithm. I loved being able to add a dozen people and shuffle the "Recently Added" playlist; heard all kinds of cool stuff that way.
Again, if there's any information either way, it would be much appreciated.

Yep. I'm kind of hoping that if BB10 takes off, BB might decide to build out another social music service like BBMM.
It seemed to me that they could use the free service (BBMM Basic) to drive music sales in BB World and that that might justify keeping BBMM around in BB10. People either pay for the subscription (Premium) or buy stuff that they run into while tooling around checking out other peoples tracks for free (Basic). This would probably work if they gave out a small number of free listen to the basic subscribers each month.
Anyway, when I get a BB10 phone this'll be the one thing I'll really miss from BB7.
