Default Extract files from 10.3.1052 simulator?

Hi all, I was trying to do something "strange"... I downloaded the simulator, then extracted from the .exe file the OS image (with uniextract) and i've found a bunch of interesting files called "blackberry10simulator.vmdk" (VMaware virtual disk) Image files. Why I did this? I tried the simulator, and I've seen that it's a full Blackberry OS, with all apps and stuffs... and as a Blackberry OS, it must have bar files inside it somewhere!!!! How to extract the files inside these packages? These things should have the bar files where the simulator reads to! I tried various vmdk file extractors, but all failed...

Here's a screen of the files:

Won't do much good. Even if you could crack open the vmdk files, the apps are x86 (most computers) as opposed to ARM (most mobile devices).

It's not strange, it's entirely possible.

However it's useless as the apps from the simulator are missing the signature files required to install on our phones. How do I know? I just extracted them.

    With ONE exception. The browser.

Here's the browser - version 10.3.0.45 (not sure how that compares to 10.3.0.700)

    https://mega.co.nz/#!JIt03AiA!kGCjtH...Z5mO8LgQQJEGWY

Here's one that doesn't work - camera - just to see the difference. under MANIFEST directory it's missing the RDK and AUTHOR files like every other signed BAR file has.

    https://mega.co.nz/#!FAMXzKCS!NXMaT1...1Wc8PuWoQFyFmI

Edit: OK, so the list that do have signatures is:
    sys.pim.email.composer.card
    sys.pim.messages
    sys.pim.email.card
    sys.browser
    sys.data.zoneinfo
    and the sys.data.imf.*

The rest are useless without them

I stand corrected. Shame it's only the mostly useless ones that have signatures.

Agreed, and now we all know what to story is.

FYI, the process to follow is thus:

convert the vmdk (dynamic) to some variety of a fixed-size disk. Then do some trimming so the boot sector is the beginning of the file, then my program will read it directly. A lot of work for very little benefit.

Wow! You're a Genius! You had my same idea, but you made the goal! And we've got a new browser! Enough to make us all crazy with this lack of leaks...Lol. However, How did you extracted the bar files from the images? My extractors all fail... and How can we sign the files ? It has to be impossible T.T

Bah, I figured this out sometime back in 10.2 or so but it's a pain to do so never bothered with it again until recently.

As for how... I sorta posted how a few posts above, missing a lot of steps, but since I wrote one of the main extractors in use I sorta have an advantage

But for signing apps, forget it. Not possible.

Just installed the updated browser on 10.3.0.700. so far, performance appears to be the same. I noticed in settings that they added a link to the help app (for new users i assume). One bug i noticed is that if you have one tab open, there's an x (to close the tab) that shouldnt be there (because you cant have no tab running). If you press the x, its as if it was never there because it fullscreens the tab (though if it was a real x, it'd close the tab)

Impossible is nothing... Lol, I searched on the web and I've found a lot of guides about signing bar files, but I don't think it's the same thing... right?
If only the core OS bar would have been signed T.T

At this point you're willing to try anything if it gets you even a digit difference in OS release. LOL

It's impossible because to sign system bar files because you need BlackBerry private signing key, and that's likely never going to happen. If you have a few million years you might be lucky enough to brute force it and find the key that way.

Could we see the problem in the other way : would we be able to find a way to run unsigned apps looking at how this preview OS has been built ?
