Default Whatsapp 2.8 vs 2.9 on Z10 (Notifications Thread)

I noticed that when I installed Whatsapp 2.8.9108 it pushed notifications whereas 2.9.1547 did not. Anyone else notice this?

Today I switched on my fone after a flight and I got whatsapp notification. It wasn't a specific contact just a general notification saying someone has sent a msg...so my version does work kinda without being open...

    Hope that helps...

Has anyone noticed if battery performance is affected (negatively) once WhatsApp 2.9 is pushed and running on the Z10?
I have a pre-release device, so this might be the case; but I'm getting about 6 hours of battery rather than a full day.

It could also be that I'm using this thing the entire time. I just can't put it down. Ever.
Anyway, any comments would be greatly appreciated.

It works with my 2.9 before, but after the latest OS update (10.0.10.82). I doesn't anymore. Sad that I can't use the peek gesture anymore. Official BlackBerry 10 whatsapp, Y U NO release yet?
