Default Wishing I never went to AT&T

I have a torch. I spent 12 years with Sprint with no issues. My phone is 2 weeks old, and the SIM card died. The reps on the phone and at the store say this happens all the time. So fine, I go and get a new SIM card. But the reps in the store failed to connect my service books to my new SIM (which I didn't know they had to do since I've never had a GSM phone before), so I get back home and find out I don't have internet or email, and can't use any of my apps even on Wifi.

So I call AT&T and get a message that their phone lines are only open until 10pm EASTERN TIME. I live in Seattle. So basically either I have to go back to the store or I have to go without the bulk of the service I'M PAYING FOR until Monday.

What the **** kind of customer service is this? I never once had an issue like this in my 12 years with Sprint. I know there are probably a bunch of GSM phone users that think this is normal because they're used to this, but when you're with a company that has 24 hour service and NEVER has situations where you have service outages because a rep "forgot" to set up your phone properly, it's a big deal.

On top of all that, I just found out that AT&T charges a deductible on the phone insurance. Yeah, my "deductible" on my insurance with Sprint was $0.

I just LOVE to pay more $$ per month to be able to not use my phone. I just LOVE AT&T. Thanks for the memories.

Since you are still within 30 days, take the device back and cancel AT&T if their service does not meet your needs.

you're calling the wrong number..
that i think is the Sales dept.
for blackberry data, and any other support related issues ( except iphone) you get a 24/7 help line number.

try this.. if you're still with AT&T

Support. 1-800-288-1145. Billing & Customer Service 9 am to Midnight, 7 days a week; Technical Support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Looks like this post is a little old, but I'll jump in regardless..

Did you try and log in to the BIS and send your service books from your desktop/laptop? https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=mycingular

Which phone did you have with Sprint? The phone insurance plans I see with Sprint have either a $50 or $100 deductible (see: http://www.phoneclaim.com/doc_list/d...int-Deductible). Plus, it isn't the phone carrier that has the deductible, it's the insurance company (does AT&T still use Asurion?).

ATT 24/7 tech Support - FREE. Just dial 611 from your phone or the Toll Free number an earlier poster listed.

should have gone with tmobile. Best customer service hands down.
I call whenever and they help me out.
sure their service is not the greatest out there but hey its gets the job down.

and plus no one can beat their pricing.

T mobile has been voted as Best customer service for 2-3 years in a row.. i think it's J.D Powers..
and now they have the BOGO ( buy one smartphone get one smartphone)
so you can get a 9700 or the samsung galaxy and get the next one free.
they even have the month to month contract..
but in terms of phone selection, i think AT&T outstands the competition..

JD Powers is biased trash. I hear nothing but complaints from T-Mobile customers about T-Mobile's customer support.

I mean, AT&T isn't allowed to tell you that the iPhone is a piece of garbage, and it's not Apple that tells you how to fix Visual Voicemail and Facetime when Apple poops out a new OS revision without testing it.

Return it. Don't whine and complain if you have options or had options. Return the phone and go back to sprint.

I smell some BS... Sprint insurance claims sure as **** require a deductible... Pretty much all insurance claims do.
