Default Will I lose my Fan Discount?

I have an account with att - and I was looking for a new phone as I qualify for an upgrade. Att has the 9700 for $199 but Amazon has it for $75. If and when I order it from Amazon, will I lose the FAN discount? When I place the phone into my shopping cart, it then tells me to pick a new calling plan - which doesnt matter cuz they still offer the same one as I have now. But since the order is goin thru Amazon I wonder if that will knock the FAN discount off. Any input would be great folks!

No it wont. But don't complain to AT&T if Amazon messes your account up.

Ha! Who would you suggest they complain to if their account gets messed up then? Amazon isn't providing their cell service.

I would ignore the above posters comment about not contacting AT&T if something goes wrong. They are right though in saying that your FAN discount should be just fine as long as you are not creating a new account with Amazon and just upgrading your current one.

I work for AT&T. I can't stand fixing mistakes made by other dealers, go into a AT&T store and have an AT&T employee handle your AT&T account. Do you take a Benz to the local Honda dealership for service? No.

werd.

It wont knock off your FAN though. But from the way it sounds, seems like your processing a order for a phone, and setting up a new account. make sure you select that you already have an existing att account.

If the OP can get the phone at a much lower price than what AT&T is offering at a store or on the web then why would they go into a store to pay the higher price. Regardless if you hate fixing mistakes that other dealers make that shouldn't deter the OP from purchasing from whomever they like. If the problem is that dealers for AT&T do not follow the proper procedure well then you take that up with the dealer not the customer.

Also your analogy makes no sense since he is buying something not taking it for service. I can tell you that if there was a Benz over 50% cheaper at a Honda dealership than it was at a Benz dealership you better believe you and everyone else would be buying it from the Honda dealership. I know I would.

. . .

If you could get a car cheaper at a local dealer than you could direct from the factory, do you call the factory when you got overcharged?

Any reputable 3rd party dealer will have a separate path for UPGRADES versus NEW ACTIVATIONS.

But this implies people bother reading anything before signing it.

I work for them as well, but in the landline group. But we handle vendor errors all day long.

I selected the "exsisting customer" option and its still asking me to pick a calling plan.

And this is your model of thinking, quantity over quality. My analogy works, its principle.

I understand price differences between different compeptitors but as an ATT rep...it sucks! It is really difficult to figure out what is going on with the account if it has been bought elsewhere. If you have the time to ask the Crackberry Community...go support your local store!

I think Randall Stephenson makes enough $$$ off of me. Not to mention the stock options he sold and denying us our stip award (or otherwise known as a team award).

Going to a local store, COR or Retail, puts money in a reps pocket.
