We need answers re: VVM on unlocked non-At&T devices. (please)

Ok, AT&T reps. Can anyone provide a definitive answer as to how to get VVM working on unlocked non-AT&T devices (9900, in this case)? Your provisioning system states the IMEI is not compatable with VVM. Is it simply limited to a certain scope of AT&T-only IMEIs? I have only gotten it partially working, and now cannot get it working at all. Error 122 invalid number, etc. Can anything be done to fix this?

Have customer service change your IMEI to 357360030000000. It's a dummy Blackberry Bold 9700. That will allow Visual Voicemail to be added in the system, which will likely allow your phone to set up your mailbox and work with it.

There will be no official answer, as AT&T does not support unbranded devices. Any support you get will come from someone's personal experience, or this very site.
