Default Unique Upgrade Scenario

Hey all,

Looking to upgrade my 3 line family plan, and have 2 scenarios.

Line 1: Blackberry w/ unlimited data + texting, not upgrade eligible for 3 months

Line 2: dumbphone w/ no extras, currently eligible for upgrade

I would like to use Line 2 upgrade eligibility to get a smart phone to be used on Line 1, while Line 2 will continue using the old dumbphone without any data/text plan. Is this possible?

Or, if I wait 3 months until Line 1 is eligible for an upgrade, may I upgrade get a smartphone, and let Line 2 use it without adding a data/text plan?

Lastly, for both scenarios, would ordering from a 3rd party (amazonwireless etc.) change anything?

Thanks!

You WILL have to have Customer Care restore your unlimited data, as currently most upgrade systems will strip it from your line when you activate the new phone when upgrading line 1.

But you can upgrade swap, no prob. Just be sure that you get it noted on your account of what you intend to do beforehand.

Say something like "I want to upgrade line 2 to get a new smartphone for line 1, then change line 2 back to the phone it had. Then I want to upgrade line 1 in a few months to get a new phone for line 2, but change line 1 back to the phone it had, and get unlimited data back."

Sounds complicated, but it's easier getting it sorted out now then trying to call in seven months from now.
