Uncaught Exception on Visual Voice Mail

I keep getting an Uncaught Exception error on my phone basically telling me my VVM is not working. Of course I know this because I don't get notified of any new voicemails. Every few days, all of a sudden like 10 new voicemails come thru on my phone from the previous 5 or so days. My question is this: If I delete the VVM program off of my phone, will that automatically delete the voicemails (unheard and not) from my basic voicemail (dialing 1)? I want to remove and reinstall the program to see if that works. Thanks.
