Mobile Insurance... After the sale.
99% of the time, when it comes to my plan and features, I can answer my own questions and not have to reach out for help, but this time it's a bit different, as I've never heard of this happening before, so if someone could clarify if this is (supposed to be?) possible, I'd appreciate it.
On 17 November, I went into AT&T and bought a 9900, outright, not using my upgrade for full price, and went ahead and got Mobile Insurance added to my line at the same time ($6.99 a month), as I pretty much always have.
But the first week of December, I decided to trade the 9900 for an iPhone 4S, per usual, when I got the 2GB DataPro activated for iPhone, Insurance was removed from the line automatically by the system, this is what I was expecting to happen, and since I had AppleCare+, that was fine by me.
However, I ended up selling that 4S, and buying the 9900 I traded back (the original phone, same IMEI, same PIN), and went to get the BlackBerry data feature activated again, all went well per usual, pain free, but what was a bit different this time, was that now that I've gone in and looked at my active features, Mobile Insurance is back on my line, even though the 30 day grace period has long gone. I never actually asked anyone to add this feature back onto my line, It just showed up, out of no where, which is one reason I'm confused, I'm actually glad it seems to be there, but I'm confused because I've always been told that after 30 days you can't have Mobile Insurance added to the line, I'm obviously past that 30 day period, and before I had the 9900 put back on the line, this feature wasn't there, the rep who went ahead and got me set with the 9900 again knows me on a fairly personal level, but as far as I was concerned, the system won't let you even put the feature on after 30 days, so I'm rather confused.
As I mentioned, I'm far from upset to see this on my line again, I'm just confused as to how it managed to get on there, and I want to make sure I'm actually enrolled and that I don't just have this sitting on my line being added to my bill, only to find one day that it wasn't actually valid or something alone those lines.
So like I said, If anyone can shed some light on how this might have worked, I'd appreciate it.
